Baldev Seehra's Book Release

Vancouver Vichar Manch and Ghazal Manch Surrey in collaboration with Jarnail Art Gallery and Gurdeep Arts Academy, organized a special event to release the ghazal book 'Khali Bedian' by poet Baldev Seehra, to the public and to discuss it. Novelist Jarnail Singh Sekha, Ghazalgo Jaswinder and poet Baldev Seehra presided over this event.

Poet Mohan Gill, conducting the manch, welcomed everyone and gave information about the outline of the entire program. Artist Jarnail Singh, spokesperson of Vancouver Vichar Manch, shed light on the establishment of manch, its purpose and functions. Later, Balraj Bassi presented a ghazal from the book 'Khali Bedian' in his melodious voice.

Famous poet, novelist and critic Rajwant Raj read his paper on the book 'Khali Bedian'. He said that this is the fourth ghazal collection of Baldev Seehra and like the first ghazal collection, it also revolves around the world of love. His thoughts are revolving around Love in every ghazal. Most of his poems are painted in the colors of longing, possession, separation, infidelity, compulsion. Apart from love, different colors of life have been included in this ghazal collection. The characters of today's politicians, Love of immigrants to their motherland, the plight of the peasantry, the problems and compulsions of the common man, the characters of religious hypocrites have also become a part of Baldev's poetry.

Jarnail Singh Sekha also shared the ideas expressed by the master poets Krishna Bhanot, Rajwant Raj, Jaswinder and Gurdial Roshan about the personality and poetry of Baldev Seehra in the role of the book and said that from these ideas the popular personality of Baldev Sehra can be seen. Dr. Harjot Kaur Khaira said that Seehra has beautifully presented the sensibilities of the common man in today's corporate world through his poetry. Krishna Bhanot and Ajmer Rode shared serious points about ghazals and poetry and congratulated Baldev Seehra for 'Khali Bedian'.

Ghazal Manch poets Dasmesh Gill Feroze, Devinder Gautam, Gurmeet Singh Sidhu, Preet Manpreet and Bindu Matharu discussed various aspects of Baldev Seehra's poetry. Poet Satish Gulati, poet Inderjit Dhami, Jasveer Bhaluria, Khushal Guloti also congratulated Baldev Seehra for this ghazal collection.

Baldev Seehra specially thanked Ustad poet Krishna Bhanot, Jaswinder, Rajwant Raj and Gurdial Roshan who contributed to this book and gave brief information about his literary and social life. On this occasion, he also shared his selected poems and some ghazals with the audience.

In the end, the president of Ghazal Manch Surrey and poet Jaswinder, described the entire discussion on the book as very meaningful. Describing 'Khali Bedian' as a bouquet of very beautiful poetry, he said that it has enough love as well as contemplation which is a proof of Seehra being a great poet. 

At this event, Dr. Charanjit Singh, poet Mahendrapal Pal, Mohan Bachra, Sukhjit Kaur, Comrade Navrup Singh, Baldev Seehra's daughter-in-law and wife Ravinder Seehra were also present.
