See in ਪੰਜਾਬੀ

Krishna Bhanot was born on March 26, 1954 at Bhaini Sahib, a small but historically important village in Ludhiana district of punjab, which is known for "Baba Ram Singh", the founder of Kuka movement. According to Krishan Bhanot's own statement, "the interest in reading books was probably born with my birth. While studying in primary school, when he started recognizing letters, he started playing with the letters of religious books, Ramayana, Mahabharata, at home. While studying in high school, he was so fascinated by the books available in the school library hence he became a bookworm. During these times, he stated, “I do not know when my pen started to write songs and poems”.

While studying at Malwa College, Bondli-Samrala, he developed a passion for writing due to the literary atmosphere of the college. Apart from publishing his literature in the college magazine, he also started publishing it in newspapers. He became connected with the literary societies of the area and this is where he completely became immersed in ghazal. He had the opportunity to write under the influence of well known local ghazalgos, late Ajaib Chitarkar, Kulwant Neelon, Surjit Rampuri, Inderjit Hasanpuri, Randhir Singh Chand. Eventually, he established himself as a very popular ghazalgo and the master of ghazal poetry. He has mentored hundreds of poets to learn the mechanism of ghazal, he has mentored many famous ghazal poets and he continues to mentor to this day.

Krishna Bhanot published 9 ghazal books thus far including a book related to Arooz. The book Arooz became so popular among the new ghazal learners that the first edition was sold out in a matter of days. According to Krisan Bhanot's own statement that he has sent the PDF of this book to hundreds of up and coming ghazal poets.

Krishna Bhanot's ghazal journey has been very profound, he has been active in the literary field for almost half a century, and he has mentored hundreds of ghazal poets.
