Ghazal Manch Surrey expanded their wings into publishing to support literary individuals, ghazal poets and authors in North America. These literary folks were facing numerous challenges in publishing their work in India as they were often taken advantage of, and they were overcharged yet the quality of the books suffered significantly.
Some publishers made promises that did not materialize, the books were imperfect in quality, low grade material and spelling mistakes. The publishers made a significant profit from the NRI folks (non residential Indians) from abroad, but they failed to meet the contractual agreement. The NRI literary folks were at the mercy of some of these publishers and they were not able to take any action against these publishers as there is no process in place to address such concerns. In one case, the publisher had received full payment from a Canadian poet, and he would not publish the book.
After hearing complaints from so many literary folks and this subject kept on coming up at every gathering, Ghazal Manch Surrey decided to take on the task to publish books. They diligently put a plan together to edit, produce with an official Canadian ISBN, design, market and endorse the book with Ghazal Manch Surrey logo. They do not publish for profit purposes, therefore, there are no restrictions for pdf distribution of the books and the cost of publishing is reasonable with superior quality.
Ghazal Manch has published five books so far. Among them, Gautam's ghazal book 'Supne Saun na Dinde (2020)', Rajwant Raj's ghazal book 'Tutte Sitare Chugdeyan (2021)', Krishna Bhanot's ghazal book 'Gehre Paniyan Vich (2023)', Rajwant Raj's novel 'Varole'.
