Preet Manpreet was born and raised in village Manawan (Moga) in Punjab, India. After doing his M.A in Economics from Government College, Ludhiana, he did his B.Ed from DM College of Education, Moga. After that he worked as a teacher in Punjab for seven years. He was fond of writing poetry since his childhood. He won first place in university poetry-writing competitions twice in a row. In the year 2000, he won the University-Color Award in Poetry-Writing. He has been living in Surrey, Canada since 2006 and has published a book 'Ruttan, Dil Te Sufne' published by Chetna Prakasan. Apart from this, his next book in the form of a collection of ghazals is ready for publication.
